1. Crookers – “Dr. Gonzo Anthem”/entire Dr. Gonzo LP
The first time I heard this track I think I stayed in mid air, fist pumping for about 8 minutes. I couldn’t stop playing it. The synth stabs and bass kicks are incredible. Plus that xylophone build? Come on.
2. Sasha “Kill The Bitch” – [Saint Remix]
I knew I stumbled upon a hidden gem when I came across Saint’s SoundCloud page. I downloaded everything immediately and have played his shit so hard all year. How this cat is still under the radar is beyond me. I love Sasha’s vocals, the percussion, and the horns in this track though. Beyond hype.
3. Modabot - “Sevillans” [Sazon Booya Remix]
This track just brings back some old school Latin Reggae vibes from when I was a kid. That vicious growl, the crazy synth and the massive kick. Watch the hips swing and booties pop when this jawn drops.
4. Astronomar – “Had To Move On”
I could talk for days about this song. With the style of in your face, loud ass, jungle noise, animal sound music I play, when I drop this it comes out of left field. It’s kind of a dutch banger, but it’s simplicity is what gets me. A nice little synth line with a good kick and nice claps. BOUT IT!
5. Major Lazer « Original Don”
I waited for this track patiently, the first time I heard it I almost couldn’t comprehend it. Like the first time I heard “Pon De Floor”, the kind of magic that I’ve come to expect from The Major and he never disappoints.
